Have you ever wondered if the Small Group leaders of IBC would be annoyed if the members of another small group showed up outside their door and began singing to get their attention? I don't know about that, but I think if we then bestowed upon them some goodies, and scurried back into the night, their initial annoyance might just melt into warm fuzzies.
So tonight, bring a small amount of cookies, brownies or something, some warm clothes, and a festive spirit. We'll plan on meeting at the Tates at 6:00 pm, cruise by the other small groups, and then reconvene back at the Tates afterward to just hang out and maybe enjoy some hot cocoa.
See you guys tonight!!!

Change in the Night
Hey everybody. There is a change in tonight's plans. We are going to Dennis's house tonight and Chris will be leading our discussion time tonight. If you need directions to Dennis's house call the church today at 951-659-4775 and ask Connie for directions. We were there a couple of weeks ago for those of you that remember. Thank you Connie for calling everyone and making the arrangements. Thank you Chris for stepping up. Thanks Dennis for using your gift of hospitality once again. I am at a leadership conference in Dana Point that ends maybe at 4pm. Needless to say I'm not sure I'll even make it tonight. Lisa will be there, Lord willing, with the video and our part of the Itallian Dinner. See you all soon, hopefully tonight or next week! God Bless the Truth Project!

WE'RE AT DENNIS CAVANAUGH'S HOUSE THIS WEEK
If the weather allows, we are planning on watching the movie outside so bring some warm clothing in case it's chilly. Dennis has graciously offered to prepare the entire meal all by himself so, if you can come, bring $3.00 per person for Dennis to help defray the expense of the meal. $3.00? What a deal!!!
This Wednesday we will be watching half of tour #3- Anthropology.
Some of us will be meeting at the Tate house to caravan up there, but if you want to seek out the Cavanaugh place on your own he resides at 55055 Daryll. See you there! I can't wait.

Truth - How does it motivate?
Hey everybody. Good stuff Wednesday night! Looking forward to next wednesday. Especially if Josh tells another hilarious story about his time as a police officer. Here is a link to an interesting read. It's an email from an athiest to a guy named Ray Comfort. He is an evangelist who has a ministry that reaches out with the gospel and trains Christians to evangalize. Some of you may have heard of him because Kirk Cameron is his partner. Kirk was a TV Star in the 90's before giving his heart to Christ. He now has this amazing minsitry that reaches out with God's truth to the unsaved. Some may disagree in their tactics at times, but what I have found is it is hard hitting stuff and worth a look at. Check out the website at www.wayofthemaster.com or also follow this link to the article that I mentioned above. The Truth of God in His word is worth the effort we take to share it. Here's the link.

HOORAY FOR L.I.F.E. GROUPS!!!
Here's some information about this year's small group:
WHEN- We will be kicking off the group sometime in mid-September. Keep an eye on the church bulletin or check back here as we have not yet decided on an exact start date. Like last year we will be meeting on Wednesday nights from 6:00-8:00 pm.
WHERE- The location where we meet will change from week to week as we bounce around to different homes represented in the group. Most often, however, we will be meeting at Josh and Sarah Tate's house over at Camp Maranatha. (There is no pressure to host the group, but as many as would like to open their homes will be given an opportunity.)
WHAT- We will begin this year by working our way through the Truth Project. The Truth Project is a DVD-based small group curriculum comprised of 12 one-hour lessons taught by Dr. Del Tackett. This home study is the starting point for looking at life from a biblical perspective. Each lesson discusses in great detail the relevance and importance of living the Christian worldview in daily life. The videos are very relevant and on-target, and I am confident that they will be a HUGE blessing as well as a vehicle for growth in the life of our group. I can't wait!
(We will begin our time each week by sharing a meal together, and everyone will be asked to bring a part of the meal. Yum-yum!!!)
WHY- When Sarah and I first began attending I.B.C. back in 2004 we didn't really feel "connected" until we began attending a small group. We had been attending services on Sunday morning, but that, by itself, failed the meet the God-given need we were experiencing to know and be known by others. The Bible tells us that God desires for us to live in intimate fellowship with other believers, and that the body of Christ has an important role to play in helping each of us grow towards Christ-likeness. (Proverbs 27:17)
WHO- If you have any questions contact Josh Tate at 818-321-4680
Meeting locations, and meal assignments will be posted weekly on this blog, along with discussion questions, and other relevant information.
